Any drinking vessel made since last 12th Night.  Documentation is encouraged, but not necessary.  Populace vote.  Must be able to hold water for 10 minutes and yes, it will be tested.

German Holiday or Outdoor Garb

Any German Holiday or Outdoor Garb.  Documentation is required.  This is also Populace vote, but Judges will be looking over the items for feedback and giving extra “points”.

Rat Out Your Friends!

This is by far the most fun display that an event can have.  If you have been given something since last Twelfth Night and want to show it off, this would be the place.

What Calontir Means to Me

While this is not an official Competition, many have asked about this idea.  It doesn’t matter what form, but we will have an area set aside for those who would like display what Calontir means to them.

Taking the Leap: Moving from Painting Preprints to Doing Original Scrolls

Many people are nervous that their scribal skills are not “good enough” to do original scrolls, so they stay painting preprints ONLY for years on end. This class will show you it’s not that hard to move forward and start making quality original SCA award scrolls using the techniques and materials you are already using for preprints. This class will be RUSH certified for credits for students! See the RUSH website.

Class Requirements: Students should bring paints, brushes, calligraphy pens, water cups, a ruler, compass (or something else to make circles/arcs) and several pieces of graph paper if possible.

German Blackwork

Patterns of Medieval German blackwork. We will examine the patterns in relationship to other countries blackwork examples. Then the basics of blackwork will be taught. A bookmark sized sample will be worked in class. 30 minutes lecture, 90 minutes hands-on learning to do a pattern.

Pre-Print Painting Basics

Basic tools, techniques, hints and ideas for painting preprints for ANY reign. This class will be RUSH certified for credits for students! See the RUSH website.

This class will discuss how you might perceive speed in combat and how it can effect your progression and improvement as a fighter.

Learn how to warp a loom, read a pattern, and start weaving. If you have your own loom/fiber/pattern, please bring it to class with you. If not, it’s ok, I will have one available.
